sunbed care & advice

Are Sunbeds dangerous?

With excessive use, Sunbeds can be dangerous. However, used moderately, Sunbeds can help with skin problems such as psoriasis and muscular aches and pains that are sometimes caused by lack of Vitamin D.

If I want to build up a tan before I go on holiday, how do I go about this?

Depending on how fair you are will depend on how many sunbed sessions you will need. We suggest that moderate use approximately a month before your holiday will build up your tan, as well as preparing your skin for sun exposure. The fairer your skin is, we recommend starting with shorter sessions, gradually increasing the minutes of your sessions. Sunbed courses are available.

I have an occasion and would like a Spray Tan, can you do this without me looking orange?

We use Fake Bake products for our Spray Tans, which works with your natural skin tone while it develops, giving you a natural glow for up to 5 days. If you have never had a spray tan before, and are nervous about how it would look, we recommend that you have it done at least two weeks before you require the treatment.

I've had disasters with fake tans before, how can I avoid patches and streaks?

When booking an appointment for our Fake Bake Spray Tan, we always inform the client to exfoliate really well (concentrating on dry areas such as elbows, knees and feet), no use of deodorant, make up and moisturiser and to wear loose, dark clothing. This ensures that all dry skin and products that cause a barrier is clear between the skin and spray tan.

We can provide you with a pre-treatment Full Body Exfoliation, where the therapist can give you a smooth base before your Spray Tan treatment. This is also ideal before a holiday, giving your skin the perfect base for tanning
